As I grew up my parents tended to continue their hostilities through me. One of these battles was in the religious realm. My Father wanted to make sure that I had a proper Catholic up bringing, my Mother on the other hand did her best to subvert that and in the guise of exposing me to various philosophies, took me to all sorts of different services at different religions.
All of this shaped me and my outlook in regards to religion in general.
There were several things that happened while growing up. My Dad remarried, and at the time my Step-mothers divorce was not Annulled (It was years later when her Ex decided to get remarried, but that is another story), so at the time that was considered adultery by the Church and so he was refused the sacrament. Now me, seeing this was confused in my youth as to why such a great guy as my Father was hated by God. It made no sense to me so did not go through confirmation and sat there with my father as my Step-mother and Step-siblings went for communion.
I would learn later while reading the Bible that Woman were property and could only exist in three states Virgin (property of the Father), Married (Property of the Husband), and Widowed (Property of the Son/Son-in-law) and thus the reason why it was considered that my Father was sinning and God hated him.
Now back to my Mother. As I said, she did her best to expose me to all sorts of religions. Part of this, as I said was so she could continue the battle for whatever reasons, but also because, back when she married my Father she had to convert from being LDS to Catholic. This was something that stuck with her and she in her own way was trying to point out to me, and that was that no one religion or philosophy is right, There is no

So, as noted below, the following song came up and made me think a bit as it played. That there are several people that I know in RL and also now in VL (some that I have met and am glad to have done so :) ) that I would have liked to have met as a child when they too were children, just to see what they were like then.
Innocent Child – (Mick Jones)
“So you think you’re changed, do you?”
Live for yourself
Today or tomorrow
Look after your health
Forget all your sorrows
Oh, I wish I could’ve seen you
When you could run wild
I would`ve liked to know you
As an innocent child
Innocent child
It`s never too late
For you to do
You don`t have to wait
For the sun to come through
Oh, I wish I could’ve seen you
When you could run wild
I would’ve liked to know you
As an innocent child
Innocent child
I know a way
Of sipping the truth
Go back to the days
Before your youth
Oh, I wish I could’ve seen you
When you could run wild
I would’ve liked to know you
As an innocent child
Innocent child
Oh, I wish I could’ve seen you
When you could run wild
I would’ve liked to know you
As an innocent
Innocent child
Child
Innocent child

Yes, very few of you if any have ever played it or ever will.
I have two characters in the game, both on the same server and in the same guild. The first one I made was a Kerran (huge Cat Person) Swashbuckler. A Swashbuckler is a lot like a Stalker for the Coh/Cov players, and the Kerran

Added a new group to the VG Coalition, so that makes four.
Woot!
We had a HUGE turn out for CoV night and there was some confusion as to who was going to be on what team, but we worked it all out.
It was fun to see some of the old gang again, and it was fun to see a Chaos Girl alt.
Hopefully we can have some orginizing type folks in the future that now how to do Team balancing in a blink of an eye, so that we can do the fun.

I loath to admit it, but during the 8 months I was unemployed One of the things I did was watch at least the first 15 minutes of the daily Train Wreck The View, and I do mean train wreck.
You had Debbie mygodthatisalotofsyllables, the Mouth, No Undies/Bra Meredith, Star Jones, and every so often Baba Wawa.
My god, Star Jones
She was Like Forrest Gump in Drag. The usual pattern of the show was that Debbie would say something stupid, all the others would roll their eyes, then Star would say something even more stupid but say that she was a lawyer so that made her right, and then a round of collective back patting because they had once again proven Debbie wrong.
It was predictable and a laugh riot every morning, and really what made the SNL skit based on the show every week so damn funny was that it wasn

There things in the world that have always managed to leave me confused. One of these things is how professional idiots and liars like Tom Friedman, Charles Krauthammer, David Brooks, David Broder, Joe Klein and the completely irrelevant Chris Hitchens continue to be employed. I mean, Friedman is so useless anymore that a unit of time measurement has been named after him (one Friedman Unit (FU) = 6 months i.e. the amount of time for anything in the world to get better. This goes along with his patented Taxi-Drivers-Are-Us fact finding technique). But now it seems that Hitchens is having troubles leaving the bottle for more than an hour at a time (at bottom of article).
To me it is long past time for Slate to just buy him the never ending Honour Bar and let him stagger off into the sunset.
P.S. Don
