Basically this has been my lament since 2000 when ever I drove under the Arch.

At the north Platte Museum, the one thing that was unique was this, an Electric Accordion. I had no idea that these even existed, and I am sure that it could be quite amazing in the right hands.

While some folks go off and watch and rant about the Tourons in WDW, I went off to Nebraska and got to see things that I have spent the past 40 years driving past. So, those of you that have driven I80 a lot through Nebraska will at least be familiar with Pioneer Village and the big freaking archway in Kearney…yeah that one. Yeppers, I finally got to see them heading off with one of Mom’s clubs and look around…and also, for no apparent reason there is a Frank Lloyd Wright house in McCook Nebraska. Wacky.
Photos later after I upload them.
The Great Platte River Archway: Pretty cool actually, a well done museum, not really worth stopping at until they get an exit right off of I80 for both East and West Bound. But once they do it will be worth an half to hour of your time to stop and go through it.
Pioneer Village: Ummm…okay. Picture your junk drawer. Got it?
Okay, now picture it if you had enough stuff to fill twenty acres? Got that image in your head?
Right.
So, everyone has their collections, little things (or big things) that they find and buy. Harold Warp wasn’t a collector, he was an amasser. No rhyme or reason to his collections….he just had enough money to buy whatever he saw and move it to Minden, and it really did not matter what it was, he bought and squirreled it away. Cars, buildings, pens, pencils, anything and everything (with the exception of AMC cars….no idea why he never bought any of those) and put it into Pioneer Village.
Pioneer village is not as much a museum as much as it is a giant junk drawer. There are things there I had no idea existed (at least 20 car makes I had no idea even existed, which made the lack of AMC cars odd). And if you want a peek at mania, walk into the Building labeled “Hobbies” and get a small glimpse as your eyes scan the panel after panel of Pens and Pencils, salt and pepper shakers and so on. It is insanity in a nice small mind boggling package. Kind of like the train he has that he used to see go past his family’s farm as a kid….and then he bought it.
One thing that to me was annoying, was that with the car displays they were all packed together, and you could not walk around each vehicle or look inside it….and several of them need some TLC to get them back into good condition.
Also, after walking through the buildings of Farm Implements of Death and Destruction, I can see why my Grandmother’s Brother died in a farm implement accident….the things are death incarnate, nothing but hooks, cutting slicing, with chains and belts all designed to run bits and pieces of your body through them and reduce it to just so much hamburger.
So yes, it is worth seeing, at least once just to have your mind boggled

Scott Roeder (Terrorist) who was a part of the Freeman terrorist movement back in the ’90s, is a hero, the equivalent of our Founding Fathers (“He’s just like Sam Addams!”).
To me it is amusing to see the right wing of our country, after most of a decade arguing against the concept of “One man’s Terrorist is another man’s Freedom Fighter” go back to embracing it again….just like they did in the 90s. But, of course to be a freedom fighter in this country one must be a Christian and White, and either a Libertarian or a member of the GOP….all others are branded Terrorists even if they do not actually kill anyone (See ELF).
So, it will remain to be seen if the DHS will re-release the right wing extremist document that they withdrew when the extremist righties cried and screamed about it depicting them accurately or not.
Bonus:
Randall Terry (Terrorist) explaining how to move forward.
